1. A method of performing a therapy on a prostate of a patient via transperineal access, the therapy using an ultrasound probe, the patient including a rectum and a perineum, the method comprising:
positioning a pair of stabilization members of a needle guide adjacent the perineum, the pair of stabilization members spaced apart from each other and supporting a platform configured to slide along a portion of a length of the pair of stabilization members, the needle guide coupled to the ultrasound probe;
coupling an access needle to the platform;
sliding the platform and the access needle relative to the pair of stabilization members and the ultrasound probe so the access needle extends into the perineum; and
using the access needle as a conduit, injecting a radiation blocking substance between the rectum and the prostate.
