1. A method for outputting a sample from an ISO Base Media File Format (ISOBMFF) standard compliant file, the method comprising:
obtaining, from the ISOBMFF compliant file, a compressed sample;
obtaining, from the ISOBMFF compliant file, a sample entry comprising a predefined type indicating that the compressed sample corresponds to a sample of an uncompressed video, an item of information indicating a type of compression applied to the sample of the uncompressed video and an item of information indicating an entity being compressed within the compressed sample;
decompressing the obtained compressed sample, as a function of the type of compression and of the item of information indicating the entity being compressed; and
outputting the decompressed obtained sample.
