1. A liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition comprising from about 5.0% to about 50% by weight of the liquid hand dishwashing detergent composition of a surfactant system, wherein the surfactant system comprises:
anionic surfactant, wherein the anionic surfactant comprises:
i. alkyl sulphate anionic surfactant, wherein the alkyl sulphate has an average degree of ethoxylation of less than about 0.5, and
ii. acyl taurate anionic surfactant, wherein the acyl taurate anionic surfactant has the formula (I):

wherein:
in the lipophilic tail group, R(CO)—, R is an alkyl chain comprising a number average of from about 7 to about 13;
X is H or an alkyl chain comprising from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and
M+ is a counterion;
wherein the composition has a pH of about 7.0 or greater, measured as an about 10% aqueous solution in demineralized water at about 20° C.
