1. A non-human animal or non-human animal cell having a genome comprising:
a plurality of human variable region gene segments capable of rearrangement to encode a variable domain, upstream of DNA encoding an immunoglobulin constant region comprising a CH1 domain, and
(i) a gene encoding a CL domain which lacks functional expression of variable region gene segments, or (ii) a gene encoding the immunoglobulin domain of λ5.
