1. A centrifugal separator for gas separation, comprising
a disc stack of frustoconical separation discs configured to be mounted in a separation chamber of a centrifugal separator, the disc stack comprising:
discs stacked upon each other in a manner forming narrow separation spaces between adjacent discs, each of the discs having an upper surface and a lower surface;
a first end disc at a first axial end of the disc stack and a second end disc at a second axial end of the disc stack;
welding sections extending between the upper surfaces and lower surfaces of the discs, the welding sections extending in a radial direction of the discs,
wherein the disc stack is configured to rotate around a rotation axis during operation,
wherein the discs are welded to each other via the welding sections, and
wherein the welding sections extend beyond a circumferential edge of the respective disc.
