an implant body configured to be implanted into a spine portion of a patient, the implant body comprising:
a first lamina portion extending from a first end to a second end, the first lamina portion including at least a first top surface and a first bottom surface opposite the first top surface, and at least one first opening formed proximate to the second end from the top surface to the bottom surface, the at least one first opening arranged so as to allow passage of a connection mechanism through the first lamina portion;
a second lamina portion extending from a third end to a fourth end, the second lamina portion including at least a second top surface and a second bottom surface opposite the top surface, and at least one second opening formed proximate to the fourth end from the second top surface to the second bottom surface, the at least one second opening arranged so as to allow passage of a connection mechanism through the second lamina portion, the first end of the first lamina portion and the third end of the second lamina portion pivotably coupled so that the first lamina portion is configured to move relative to the second lamina portion;
a first cavity formed in the first lamina portion between the first and second end, the first cavity extending between the first top surface and the first bottom surface; and
a second cavity formed in the second lamina portion between the third and fourth end, the second cavity extending between the second top surface and the second bottom surface; and
wherein the implant body comprises titanium; and
