1. A system for fixing a first bone segment to a second bone segment, comprising:
an implant having a fixation aperture; and
a fixation member, including:
a head region,
an elongate body having a pointed distal tip opposite the head region, and
at least one blade extending along a length of the elongate body
wherein the head region of the fixation member
includes:
an upper housing portion, including:
an interior chamber extending through the upper housing portion along a central axis of the fixation member,
a plurality of cutouts spaced about the interior chamber,
a plurality of tracks spaced about the interior chamber and adjacent the plurality of cutouts,
a plurality of wings within the interior chamber and adjacent the plurality of tracks about the central axis, and
an undercut region within the interior chamber and above the plurality of tracks;
a plurality of locks disposed within the plurality of tracks;
a locking mechanism disposed within the interior chamber of the upper housing portion; and
a bottom portion
wherein the fixation aperture includes a first pocket,
and a second pocket, wherein the bottom portion of the head region is configured to mate with the first pocket,
wherein the plurality of locks are configured to move radially outward from a first position within the upper housing portion to a second
position extending from the upper housing portion,
wherein each of the plurality of locks includes:
an inner lock face configured to engage the locking mechanism,
an outer lock face opposite the inner lock face, the outer lock face having a chamfered bottom surface, and
a plurality of tabs extending between the inner lock face and the outer lock face.
