1. A method comprising:
measuring a first data transmission sent by a wireless node of a customer premises equipment, CPE, device, to obtain a first set of parameters, wherein the first set of parameters comprise a measured data rate and a Received Signal Strength Indicator, RSSI, value;
determining one or more performance degradation zones based on the first set of parameters;
monitoring a second data transmission of the wireless node, to obtain a second set of parameters, wherein the second set of parameters comprise measured RSSI values, wherein the monitoring the second data transmission of the wireless node to obtain a second set of parameters is performed either immediately after or immediately before the measuring the first data transmission;
determining a data throughput based on reference data for the measured RSSI values of the second set of parameters and a correction factor for a number of multiple spatial streams used for the second data transmission;
calculating a maximum obtainable wireless data rate based on the data throughput; and
identifying whether there is a performance degradation of the wireless node of the CPE based on comparing the calculated maximum obtainable wireless data rate and the one or more performance degradation zones.
