1. A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
a memory communicatively coupled with and readable by the one or more processors and having stored therein processor-readable instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform:
executing an application that generates graphics presented on a first portion of a touch-sensitive display of a multi-media device that is communicatively coupled to a media device;
receiving media content and causing presentation of the media content on a second portion of the touch-sensitive display of the multi-media device concurrently with presentation of the graphics of the executing application;
causing presentation of a particular graphic on a third portion of the touch-sensitive display concurrently with presentation of the graphics of the executing application and the media content, where the particular graphic represents an electronic device that controls presentation of media content and is communicatively coupled to the media device; and
consequent to a user selection of a button shown on the particular graphic at the touch-sensitive display of the multi-media device:
causing control of the media device in accordance with a command to control the presentation of the media content on a display; and
generating and communicating information to the electronic device such an associated controller on the electronic device visibly indicates which of its corresponding controllers have been virtually operated from the touch-sensitive display of the multi-media device, wherein the information indicates initiation of a playback operation corresponding to the button shown on the particular graphic and causes the associated controller of the electronic device to visually indicate actuation of the playback operation;
where:
the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion are different portions on the touch-sensitive display; and
the second portion of the touch-sensitive display and the third portion are dynamically adjustable with respect to one another.
