1. An electronic device comprising at least one processor configured to:
use a first protocol to transmit and/or receive a radio frequency signal during a first part of each of a plurality of periods, said radio frequency signal that is transmitted and/or received during the first part of each of the plurality of periods being used for presence and/or location detection, and
obtain network messages transmitted wirelessly using a second protocol during a second part of each of said plurality of periods, said second part of each period of said plurality of periods not overlapping with said first part of each respective period of said plurality of periods, wherein the electronic device comprises a lighting device, and wherein said network messages comprise lighting control messages;
wherein a duration of said first part varies between at least two of said plurality of periods and/or a duration of said second part varies between at least two of said plurality of periods.
