1. A control assembly of an automation system, comprising:
at least two row modules, which are arranged in a row one after the other and have an actual order,
wherein one of the row modules comprises a control and communication module and a test module,
wherein another one of the row modules comprises an input/output (I/O) module,
wherein the row modules communicate with one another,
wherein the at least two row modules are each equipped with an indicator element which can assume two distinguishable states,
wherein the test module has stored a target order for the row modules arranged in the row and is designed to send a test signal to each of the row modules one after the other in accordance with the target order, and
wherein each of the indicator elements is designed to change its state in response to the test signal received by its row module.
