1. A liquid crystal composition for controlling light, comprising:
a compound represented by the following formula (A)

in the formula, R1 represents an alkyl group having 4 to 12 carbon atoms or an alkoxy group having 4 to 12 carbon atoms, and each R2 independently represents an alkyl group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, the compound represented by the formula (A) being a dichroic dye;
a liquid crystal material;
a photocurable compound; and
a photopolymerization initiator.
