1. A system for charging a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) comprising:
a PEV including:
a frame;
a locomotive device;
a rechargeable battery pack;
a vehicle inlet;
a positioning module; and
a first communication module;
a battery charging station including:
a plurality of connectors, each connector configured to charge a different vehicle inlet type;
an actuation mechanism configured to ready a connector for charging; and
a second communication module;
wherein the PEV and the battery charging station are in operative communication; and
wherein, prior to arrival of the PEV at the battery charging station, the battery charging station anticipates an arrival of the PEV and actuates the actuation mechanism to ready the connector corresponding to the PEV's vehicle inlet type for charging the PEV.
