1. A gas separation method, comprising:
pressurizing an upstream side of a multilayer membrane with a gas mixture comprising CO2 and CH4,
selectively permeating CO2 through the multilayer membrane,
collecting a permeate gas at a downstream side of the multilayer membrane at a pressure lower than the pressure at the upstream side of the multilayer membrane, wherein the permeate gas is enriched in CO2 content in comparison to the gas mixture;
wherein the multilayer membrane comprises:
a first layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of one or more sulfone-containing polymers;
a second layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of one or more polyamides comprising, in condensation polymerized form, an aliphatic diamine and an aromatic dicarboxylate; and
TiC-derived nanoparticles are embedded in the second layer in an amount of from 0.005 to 0.5 wt. %, based on a total weight of the second layer,
wherein the first layer directly contacts the second layer;
wherein the CO2 permeance of the multilayer membrane is from 0.375 to 5 GPU.
