1. A method of oropharyngeal exercise, comprising:
placing an oropharyngeal exercise device into a user's mouth, the oropharyngeal exercise device comprising:
(i) a mouthpiece sized and shaped to be insertable into the user's mouth;
(ii) a lumen defined within the mouthpiece; and
(iii) a flow restriction structure associated with the mouthpiece;
applying a first amount of negative pressure to the lumen via the mouthpiece as necessitated by the flow restriction structure to create a first flow rate of a fluid through the lumen; and
applying a second amount of negative pressure to the lumen via the mouthpiece as necessitated by the flow restriction structure to create a second flow rate of the fluid through the lumen, wherein the second amount of negative pressure is greater than the first amount of negative pressure.
