1. A method of aiding sleep and/or treating insomnia in a subject comprising the steps of:
a. providing a composition comprising N-Acetyl Methyl GABA; and
b. administering the composition to the subject before a sleep period in an amount effective to increase the amount of N-Acetyl Methyl GABA in the subject's bloodstream and brain tissue during the subject's sleep period to aid sleep and/or treat insomnia;
wherein said increased amount of N-Acetyl Methyl GABA in the subject's bloodstream and tissue improves the subject's sleep quality during the subject's sleep period compared with sleep periods without the N-Acetyl Methyl GABA, and/or provides good to excellent sleep quality during the sleep period.
