1. An aerosol generator comprising:
a heater configured to heat a cigarette accommodated in the aerosol generator;
a battery configured to supply electric power to the heater; and
a controller configured to:
control the electric power supplied to the heater so that a temperature of the heater increases above a reference temperature in a pre-heating section, the reference temperature being a temperature at which an aerosol is generated from the cigarette, wherein
when the temperature of the heater increases above the reference temperature, the pre-heating section ends and a maintaining section starts,
control the electric power supplied to the heater based on the reference temperature as a target temperature, in the maintaining section, after the pre-heating section,
control the electric power supplied to the heater so that the temperature of the heater previously increased above the reference temperature decreases to the target temperature by setting a coefficient of proportional integral difference (PID) in the maintenance section, and
when the temperature of the heater decreases below the reference temperature according to the coefficient of PID set in the maintenance section, adjust the target temperature to be higher than the reference temperature in the maintenance section.
