1. A channel access method in an unlicensed band during a random access procedure for execution by a user equipment (UE), wherein the random access procedure is operated in RRC_CONNECTED state and the channel access method is based on semi-static channel access, the method comprising:
receiving configuration information from a base station;
detecting a downlink (DL) transmission in a fixed frame period (FFP) according to a set of FFP parameters associated with the base station;
receiving information from the DL transmission;
determining whether to initiate a channel occupation time (COT) in an FFP according to a set of FFP parameters associated with the UE based on the configuration information and the information from the DL transmission;
initiating a COT in the FFP according to the set of FFP parameters associated with the UE after a successful listen-before-talk (LBT) upon affirming the determining as to whether to initiate the COT;
transmitting an uplink (UL) burst in one or more symbols that are valid in a region of the FFP according to the set of FFP parameters associated with the UE.
