1. A network entity in a wireless communication network, comprising:
at least one processor; and
a memory coupled to the at least one processor and storing programing instructions for execution by the at least one processor to:
detect, based on data related to one or more communication paths available in a wireless communication network, a triggering event that indicates a path selection policy for a User Equipment (UE) to be updated, wherein the path selection policy for the UE indicates a first communication path of the one or more communication paths to support a communication service;
receive recommendations for selecting a second communication path from at least one other network entity, wherein the recommendations are based on at least one of path preferences for the communication service, a traffic description relating to the communication service, or a UE location;
sending a request for updating the path selection policy to another network entity, wherein the request comprises at least one of the data that are related to the one or more communication paths available in the wireless communication network or the recommendations for selecting the second communication path; and
receive a confirmation from the another network entity that the path selection policy has been updated based on the at least one of the data or the recommendations by selecting the second communication path to support the communication service instead of the first communication path.
