1. A method of onboarding users of a cloud based application from an old authentication process to a new authentication process, wherein the old authentication process implements a first functionality when authenticating a user, and the new authentication process implements a second functionality that is different than the first functionality when authenticating the user, the method comprising:
receiving an onboarding time window;
receiving a first authentication request from the user via a browser;
when the first authentication request is received during the onboarding time window, associating a cookie with the browser and using the new authentication process comprising the second functionality to authenticate the user in response to the first authentication request;
when the first authentication request is received outside of the onboarding time window, using the old authentication process comprising the first functionality to authenticate the user in response to the first authentication request;
subsequent to receiving the first authentication request, receiving a second authentication request from the user via the browser;
determining if the browser is associated with the cookie;
when the browser is associated with the cookie, using the new authentication process comprising the second functionality to authenticate the user in response to the second authentication request; and
when the browser is not associated with the cookie, using the old authentication process comprising the first functionality to authenticate the user in response to the second authentication request.
