1. A method for for controlling the application of electrical power to electrical loads within a low voltage power and communication network comprising the steps of:
connecting at least one controller device and one or more load control devices to the communication network;
providing electrical power from each controller device to the low voltage communication network;
receiving electrical power from the low voltage communication network to each load control device;
transmitting one or more identification signals and one or more control signals through the low voltage communication network;
providing a processer inside each controller device for receiving and processing the identification signals from each of the load control devices, the other controller devices and the loads and generate and transmit configuration signals to the load control devices and the other controller devices and receive and processes control signals from the power control elements to control the application of electrical power to electrical loads according to the control signals and the configuration signals and control the application of electrical power to the one or more of the plurality of electric loads.
