1. A cell tracking method for performing tracking of a cell, which transitions between (i) a state of movement and (ii) a cell division state during which the cell floats immediately before dividing into a plurality of divided cells, based on a plurality of cell images captured in time series, the cell tracking method comprising:
extracting a tracking region corresponding to the cell for each of the plurality of cell images based on luminance information of the cell images;
calculating temporal change information in a position of the extracted tracking region based on the plurality of cell images and tracking the cell based on the calculated temporal change information;
determining whether the cell is in the state of movement or in the cell division state by determining, based on the plurality of cell images, whether the tracking region is in a first state corresponding to the state of movement or in a second state corresponding to the cell division state; and
analyzing a movement state of the cell based on the calculated temporal change information,
wherein the position of the tracking region from when the tracking region is in the second state is excluded from the calculated temporal change information.
