1. A system, comprising:
a base station including a network entity; and
a computer system including:
a processor; and
memory having stored thereon executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
receive data representing a pre-installation reference parameter that corresponds to a reference parameter type and that is configured when the network entity is operated using a first software package;
receive data representing a post-installation reference parameter that corresponds to the reference parameter type and that is configured when the network entity is operated using a second software package;
store a criterion of a network performance indicator for validating the second software package;
modify the criterion for validating the second software package based on a difference between the post-installation reference parameter and the pre-installation reference parameter;
in response to determining to validate the second software package based on the modified criterion, send a first signal to the base station indicating that the second software package is validated for use when providing wireless coverage, wherein the first signal includes a first instruction to the base station to install the second software package; and
in response to determining to invalidate the second software package based on the modified criterion, send a second signal to the base station indicating that the second software package is invalidated for use when providing wireless coverage, wherein the second signal includes a second instruction to the base station to revert to using the first software package; and
wherein the base station is configured to:
in response to receiving the first instruction, cause the second software package to be installed on the base station to operate the network entity; and
in response to receiving the second instruction, cause the base station to revert to operating the network entity using the first software package.
