1. An indoor unit included in an air conditioner including an outdoor unit, the indoor unit comprising:
a power receiving circuit configured to be connectable to the outdoor unit by power supply wiring to receive electric power via the outdoor unit, and configured to be connectable to a power source other than the outdoor unit to receive electric power;
a first reception circuit configured to receive a current signal transmitted from the outdoor unit by using a current loop configured by a power line included in the power supply wiring;
a transmission and reception circuit configured to transmit and receive a voltage signal for communication using a change in voltage; and
an inner-controller that selects use of the transmission and reception circuit and the first reception circuit in a first communication state and a second communication state, wherein the first communication state is a state in which physical connection between with the outdoor unit is recognized and the second communication state is a state in which communication for operation of the air conditioner is performed with the outdoor unit.
