1. A range hood mountable to a cabinet, comprising:
a range hood base section having an upper surface defining at least one support opening, and
a mounting plate mountable to the cabinet, the mounting plate comprising
a base portion defining
at least one hood opening configured to allow a second fastener to be inserted (i) through the upper surface of the range hood, (ii) through the hood opening;
at least one tongue extending from the base portion and configured to support the weight of the range hood to allow an installer to insert the second fastener without the added burden of supporting the weight of the range hood.
