1. A thermoplastic trash bag, comprising:
first and second sidewalls comprising thermoplastic films;
the first and second sidewalls comprising a first side edge, a second side edge, a bottom edge, and an opening along respective top edges;
a first side seal securing at least two plies of thermoplastic film together along the first side edge, the first side seal being spaced from the first side edge toward the second side edge by a first distance; and
a second side seal securing the at least two plies of thermoplastic film together along the first side edge, the second side seal being positioned between the first side seal and the second side edge,
wherein the thermoplastic trash bag lacks a heat seal at the first side edge, and wherein portions of the first and second sidewalls between the first side edge and the first side seal comprise SELFing or ring rolling deformations.
