1. A non-transitory computer readable medium containing instructions that when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to perform operations for coordinating multi-space exertion routines, the operations comprising:
receiving during a first time period, first sensor data associated with operation of a resistance motor of a piece of electronic exercise equipment in a first space;
using at least the first sensor data to determine a first exercise routine performed using the piece of electronic exercise equipment during the first time period, wherein the first exercise routine is performed in the first space in association with a fitness goal directed to at least one specific muscle group;
receiving from a mobile communications device during a second time period, second sensor data in a second space, different from the first space, in which the mobile communications device is located;
using the first sensor data associated with the operation of the resistance motor of the piece of electronic exercise equipment, the second sensor data, and the fitness goal directed to the at least one specific muscle group to determine instructions directing performance of a second exercise routine in the second space in a manner progressing toward the fitness goal, thereby coordinating performance of the second exercise routine in the second space with the first exercise routine in the first space; and
displaying the determined instructions via the mobile communications device.
