1. A Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) device comprising:
a flow generator configured to generate a supply of pressurized air, the flow generator including a controller;
the controller configured to:
control operation of the PAP device based on an active operating mode included in the PAP device, wherein access to active operation mode is continuously available for use; and
control operation of the PAP device based on a restricted operating mode included in the PAP device, wherein access to the restricted operating mode is granted based on receiving a data signal indicating that a patient interface corresponding to the restricted operating mode is connected to the PAP device for use, wherein the access to the restricted operating mode is restricted before the data signal is received.
