1. A table system for use with an imaging device, comprising:
a base portion including a first bracket member;
a patient support comprising a platform sized and shaped to support a patient in a standing position and a bed sized and shaped to support the patient in a lying position, the patient support including a second bracket member;
a linkage portion coupled between the base portion and the patient support that is pivotable with respect to both the base portion and the patient support, wherein the linkage portion couples to the base portion at the first bracket and couples to the patient support at the second bracket;
a drive mechanism including a first drive system and a second drive system, the first drive system drives the pivoting the second bracket of the patient support with respect to the linkage portion and the second drive system drives the pivoting of the linkage portion with respect to the first bracket of the base portion, the drive mechanism being configured to move the patient support between a vertical position, a horizontal position, and one or more intermediate positions between the vertical position and the horizontal position; and
a platform supporting a rotary bearing operatively attached to the base portion to facilitate concurrent rotation of the base portion, the patient support, the linkage portion, and the drive mechanism relative to the platform;
wherein the second drive system has a mirrored configuration of the first drive system that is positioned 180° opposite of the first drive system within an interior housing of the linkage portion; and
wherein the first bracket and the second bracket each include a complementary angled surface.
