1. An electrosurgical forceps, comprising:
an end effector including a first jaw member and a second jaw member, each having an electrically-conductive sealing plate, at least one of the first or second jaw members configured to move relative to the other of the first or second jaw members from an open position to a closed position to grasp tissue between the electrically-conductive sealing plates; and
an identification module configured to store power curve data for supplying energy to the electrosurgical forceps, the power curve data comprising:
a plurality of coefficients relating to a power curve for supplying power to the electrosurgical forceps, the power curve comprising a non-linear third-order polynomial; and
a predetermined maximum power value defining a transition point in the power curve.
