1. A video laryngoscope for airway management of an individual in need thereof, wherein the video laryngoscope comprises:
a substantially curved handle that comprises an internal cavity with an opening along the entire length on one of its sides and a cap on the opposite side, said cavity housing a video laryngoscope blade when it is folded over the handle and the blade includes a movable blade support that is rotatably mounted to articulate 180° relative to the handle about a pivot axis, the movable blade support houses an automatic locking mechanism of the blade;
the blade further includes a movable blade overlappingly connected to the movable blade support by means of a longitudinal slide, said movable blade being movable along said longitudinal slide by actuating a lock of an extension-retraction mechanism of the movable blade;
a monitor that includes a monitor chassis with a screen, the screen is covered by a protective plate, the screen being connected to a printed circuit board that is connected to a plurality of image-adjustment controls and an on/off switch; and
the monitor is connected to a camera arranged at a distal end of the movable blade support and on a lower side of the movable blade support opposite the longitudinal slide.
