1. A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
display a graphical user interface for a video editing system, the graphical user interface including first and second spaced apart timelines within which media elements in a project can be edited and arranged, each of said first and second timelines providing a graphical representation of the project being edited, and wherein each of said first and second timelines provide alternate views of the same project; and
responsive to detecting a user interaction with one of the first or second timeline, apply a corresponding interaction to the other of the first or second timeline.
