1. A method for execution by a touch screen computing device, the method comprises:
obtaining a touch signal associated with a row electrode of a plurality of electrodes of a touch screen display of the touch screen computing device, wherein the touch screen display is operable to render frames of data into visible images, wherein the plurality of electrodes are integrated into the touch screen display and include rows of electrodes oriented with columns of electrodes, and wherein the touch signal is affected by image noise associated with the visible images;
spatial filtering the touch signal in a first direction of the row electrode with respect to the columns of electrodes that form intersections with the row electrode to produce first direction touch signal data for the row electrode, wherein the spatial filtering removes correlated image noise affecting proximal ones of the intersections;
spatial filtering the touch signal in a second direction of the row electrode with respect to the intersections to produce second direction touch signal data for the row electrode;
combining the first and second direction touch signal data to produce a filtered touch signal for the row electrode; and
processing the filtered touch signal to determine touch data associated with a touch at one or more of the intersections of the touch screen display.
