1. A device heating and cooling system, comprising:
a compressor for generating superheated vapor from a first refrigerant;
a condenser for receiving superheated vapor, for removing heat from the superheated vapor, and for generating a liquid refrigerant therefrom; and
at least one sub-cooler, comprising:
a first chamber having a first outer surface, a top and a bottom, enclosing a core volume for receiving the liquid refrigerant;
a second chamber extending radially beyond and enclosing the first outer surface of said first chamber, and in thermal communication therewith, having a second outer surface, a top and a bottom, forming a second volume;
a fitting in fluid communication with the core volume;
an expansion valve for receiving liquid refrigerant from said fitting and for expanding a portion of the liquid refrigerant into the second volume, whereby the liquid refrigerant in the second volume is cooled, thereby cooling the liquid refrigerant in the core volume, with refrigerant vapor generated by said expansion valve being directed to said compressor; and
a first manifold for directing the liquid refrigerant in the core volume through said fitting to devices to be cooled.
