1. A method of controlling air flow in an air handling unit, the method comprising:
determining, by a controller, a first value indicative of a characteristic of electric power supplied to the air handling unit;
determining an amount of heat generated from an air mover of the air handling unit based on the first value;
determining a first density of air received through an air inlet duct of the air handling unit;
determining at least one dimensional characteristic of the air handling unit;
determining a speed of a motor of the air handling unit;
determining an actual air flow rate based on the first density of air, the at least one dimensional characteristic, and the speed of the motor; and
causing the speed of the motor to be adjusted from a first speed to a second speed, such that the actual air flow rate matches a target air flow rate.
