1. A gate combination comprising:
a) a right upper base connector and a right lower base connector, with the right upper and lower base connectors being engaged to a right base in a residential passageway;
b) a left upper base connector and a left lower base connector, with the left upper and lower base connectors being engaged to a left base in said residential passageway that opposes the right base in said residential passageway;
c) a right gate portion engaged to the right upper and lower base connectors;
d) a left gate portion engaged to the left upper and lower base connectors, with the right gate portion slidingly engaged to the left gate portion such that a total length of the right and left gate portions can be slidingly increased and slidingly decreased;
e) a right upper gate connector engaged to the right gate portion for engaging the right upper base connector, the right upper gate connector comprising a right upper pin having a vertically oriented pin shaft portion that engages the right upper base connector;
f) a right lower gate connector engaged to the right gate portion for engaging the right lower base connector, the right lower gate connector comprising a right lower pin having a vertically oriented pin shaft portion that engages the right lower base connector;
g) a left upper gate connector engaged to the left gate portion for engaging the left upper base connector, the left upper gate connector comprising a left upper pin that engages the left upper base connector;
h) a left lower gate connector engaged to the left gate portion for engaging the left lower base connector, the left lower gate connector comprising a left lower pin that engages the left lower base connector;
i) each of the right and left gate portions having an uppermost horizontally extending support member;
j) each of the right and left gate portions having a lowermost horizontally extending support member;
k) first, second, third, and fourth cradles, each of the cradles having first and second portions, the first portion being rigidly fixed to one of the uppermost and lowermost horizontally extending support members, the second portion slidingly engaging one of the uppermost and lowermost horizontally extending support members, the second portion having a base integral with the first portion;
l) The first portion of the first cradle being rigidly fixed to the uppermost horizontally extending support member of the right gate portion, the second portion of the first cradle engaging the uppermost extending support member of the left gate portion;
m) the first portion of the second cradle being rigidly fixed to the uppermost horizontally extending support member of the left gate portion, the second portion of the second cradle engaging the uppermost extending support member of the right gate portion;
n) the first portion of the third cradle being rigidly fixed to the lowermost horizontally extending support member of the right gate portion, the second portion of the third cradle engaging the lowermost extending support member of the left gate portion;
o) the first portion of the fourth cradle being rigidly fixed to the lowermost horizontally extending support member of the left gate portion, the second portion of the fourth cradle engaging the lowermost extending support member of the right gate portion;
p) the right upper pin and the left upper pin engaged to an end of one of the uppermost horizontally extending support members;
q) the right lower pin and the left lower pin engaged to an end of one of the lowermost horizontally extending support members;
r) a latch adjacent to each of the left upper gate connector, left gate portion, and left upper base connector that engages and disengages the left upper pin to and from the left upper base connector, the latch including a spring to pivotally draw the latch under a bias into an engaged position with the left upper pin, the latch being pivotal to an unengaged position with the left upper pin; and
s) the left upper pin and the left lower pin being liftable out of, respectively, the left upper base connector and the left lower base connector when the latch is pivoted to the unengaged position such that the right gate portion and left gate portion are liftable.
