1. A system for regenerating a carbon dioxide (CO2) lean solvent from a CO2 rich solvent, the system comprising:
a microwave regeneration unit,
wherein the microwave regeneration unit is a system comprising a microwave transducer or magnetron, a reboiler through which microwave irradiation can penetrate and an insulating layer to prevent radiative losses and ensure efficient absorption of microwaves into any solvent present in the reboiler.
