1. An apparatus, comprising:
an intravascular guidewire configured to be positioned within a blood vessel of a patient, wherein the intravascular guidewire comprises:
a proximal portion;
a distal portion;
a pressure sensor positioned at the distal portion;
a coil positioned distal of the pressure sensor;
a first core wire positioned proximal of the pressure sensor; and
a second core wire positioned distal of the pressure sensor,
wherein the second core wire is positioned within the coil,
wherein the first core wire and the second core wire are physically distinct components.
