1. An apparatus comprising:
radio front end circuitry; and
at least one processor, coupled to the radio front end circuitry, configured to:
receive a master information block (MIB) or a system information block (SIB) that indicates a condition;
select a 2-step random access channel (RACH) mode based on the condition, wherein the condition requires a reference signal received power (RSRP) to exceed a threshold;
determine a power offset based on an allocated bandwidth for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) and a physical random access channel (PRACH);
determine a transmission power for the PUSCH associated with the PRACH in the 2-step RACH mode, wherein the transmission power for the PUSCH is determined based on a second transmission power of the associated PRACH and the power offset; and
the radio front end circuitry configured to transmit a signal over the PUSCH in the 2-step RACH mode based on the determined transmission power.
