1. A baseband processor of a user equipment (UE) configured to perform operations comprising:
setting a state of the UE as a service request initiated state;
receiving an authentication request message or an identity request message comprising a plain message not including integrity protection from a network while the state of the UE is the service request initiated state; and
discarding the authentication request message or the identity request message, at least in response to receiving the authentication request message or the identity request message while the state of the UE is the service request initiated state and based on the authentication request message or the identity request message comprising the plain message not including integrity protection.
