1. A method for transmitting a plurality of signals generated in a vehicle to a vehicle-external entity, comprising:
picking up the plurality of signals in a time window;
grouping signals of the plurality of signals into respective groups, wherein the signals of each group are determined to have a similar waveform in the time window based on one or more objective criteria, comprising a correlation metric, a signal difference threshold, a monotonic trend comparison, or any combination thereof;
determining a signal of the respective group as a representative of the group; and
wirelessly transmitting transmission data to the vehicle-external entity, the transmission data comprising only the determined representative of the respective group, and a respective portion of transformation information for each signal contained in the respective group, the respective portion of transformation information indicating a relation between the respective signal and the representative of the group.
