1. An in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aid comprising:
a housing configured for insertion in the ear, wherein the housing comprises a processor configured to apply hearing adjustment to an audio signal, a battery, and a speaker configured to output audio, based on the audio signal, to a user;
a dome connected to the housing;
a string connected to the housing, wherein the string is configured to be positioned within an ear of the user, and wherein the string comprises a free end; and
at least one microphone associated with the string and in communication with the processor.
