1. A method of operating a user equipment (UE), comprising:
receiving configuration of a sounding reference signal for multiple input multiple output (SRS-M) for transmission on a first set of symbols;
receiving configuration of a sounding reference signal for positioning (SRS-P) for transmission on a second set of symbols;
detecting a collision between at least one symbol among the first and second sets of symbols of the SRS-M configuration and the SRS-P configuration, respectively;
selecting one of the SRS-M configuration and the SRS-P configuration for transmission on the at least one detected collision symbol; and
transmitting in accordance with the selected SRS configuration on the at least one detected collision symbol.
