1. A method of operating a connector unit of an endoscope system, the method comprising:
engaging a first engagement portion of a first connector with a second engagement portion of a second connector, wherein the first connector includes a first wire electrically connected to a second wire and the second connector includes a third wire and wherein engaging the first engagement portion with the second engagement portion electrically connects the first wire to the third wire via the second wire;
electrically disconnecting the first wire and the second wire; and
detaching the first engagement portion from the second engagement portion.
