1. An optical system comprising:
a first lens system and a second lens system, the first lens system collecting light from an object and including a first optical axis and a first Numerical Aperture, the second lens system also collecting light from said object and including a second optical axis parallel to and spaced-apart from the first optical axis and a second Numerical Aperture smaller than the first Numerical Aperture,
a first imaging detection device located on the first optical axis and configured to detect the light collected by the first lens system and to generate corresponding first image data bore-sight to an image plane, and a second imaging detection device located on the second optical axis and configured to detect the light collected by the second lens system and to generate corresponding second image data also bore-sight to said image plane; and
a control system configured and operable to receive the first image data from the first imaging detection device and the second image data from the second imaging detection device, and process the first and second image data to computationally produce reconstructed image data.
