1. A method for modifying content spending, the method comprising:
determining, using a hardware processor, from a distribution of a plurality of content items that were displayed on a page over an amount of time based on content delivery information associated with the plurality of content items displayed on the page, whether a deviation in the distribution correlates to a refresh command performed by one or more browser applications by monitoring the content delivery information following the deviation;
determining, using the hardware processor, whether a number of views correlated with the refresh command is greater than a refresh threshold value; and
modifying, using the hardware processor, the refresh threshold value associated with the page based on the number of views correlated with the refresh command, wherein the refresh threshold value is used to optimize content delivery to the page by inhibiting one or more of the plurality of content items from being further presented on the page in response to determining that the number of views correlated with the refresh command is greater than the refresh threshold value.
