1. A method comprising:
remotely instantiating an instance for a thin client based on a boot of a transaction terminal within a thin client operating system (OS); and
remotely managing, using the instance, a peripheral device communication with a peripheral device connected to the thin client by processing output received from the peripheral device within the instance and by producing instructions for the peripheral device from virtual peripheral device drivers that are forwarded to the peripheral device.
