1. A method comprising:
receiving a free-form user input having a shape corresponding to a predefined symbol associated with a particular attribute, state, or action on a first navigational map graphical user interface (GUI) associated with an aircraft, the first navigational map GUI comprising one of a lateral map display and a forward-looking display;
assigning a geographic location to the free-form user input based on a position of the free-form user input on the first navigational map GUI, resulting in a georeferenced free-form user input;
identifying one of a taxiway, a runway, an airspace and a navigational reference point associated with the georeferenced free-form user input to be avoided based on a distance between the geographic location assigned to the georeferenced free-form user input and a respective geographic location associated with the one of the taxiway, the runway, the airspace and the navigational reference point being less than a threshold distance;
generating, on a second navigational map GUI associated with the aircraft depicting content different from the first navigational map GUI where the free-form user input was received, a second graphical representation of the georeferenced free-form user input on the second navigational map GUI concurrent to displaying a graphical representation of the free-form user input on the first navigational map GUI, wherein:
the second graphical representation is displayed at a translated position on the second navigational map GUI corresponding to the geographic location assigned to the georeferenced free-form user input based on the position of the free-form user input on the first navigational map GUI;
the second graphical representation indicates the particular attribute, state, or action associated with the one of the taxiway, the runway, the airspace and the navigational reference point associated with the georeferenced free-form user input; and
the second navigational map GUI comprises an other one of the lateral map display and the forward-looking display.
