1. A display panel comprising:
A first substrate and a second substrate with a liquid crystal layer therebetween;
a plurality of pixel electrodes to which a pixel signal is supplied, the pixel electrodes being disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the first substrate;
a plurality of common electrodes between the liquid crystal layer and the first substrate; and
a driving circuit configured to output a first drive signal or a second drive signal different from the first drive signal for driving at least one of the common electrodes,
wherein
the first drive signal is output to perform a display operation on the display panel during a first period,
the second drive signal is output to perform a touch detection in a second period other than the first period, and
the pixel signal does not change during the second period.
