1. An abnormality detection device for detecting a foreign matter getting caught in a drive unit which is driven by a motor in a machine tool, comprising:
a control unit that causes the motor which drives the drive unit at various rotational speeds to perform a detecting operation based on a command for diagnosing a state of the drive unit;
a drive unit information acquiring unit that acquires a control command for the motor driving the drive unit or a feedback signal from the motor driving the drive unit as information indicating a moving state of the drive unit during the detecting operation;
a drive unit state determining unit that analyzes the information indicating the moving state of the drive unit, which is the control command for the motor driving the drive unit or the feedback signal from the motor driving the drive unit acquired by the drive unit information acquiring unit, to obtain an analysis result, and based on the analysis result, makes a determination about the state of the drive unit; and
a notifying unit that provides a notification that the state of the drive unit is different from a normal state based on a determination result made by the drive unit state determining unit to indicate the foreign matter getting caught in the drive unit.
